04 5.7 Trans concern
So the Dodge has been slipping a little off an on. I believe its a solenoid sticking or a check ball and spring not operating as designed. This slipping has gotten worse lately and seems like the fluid might be over heating due to possible t-state in trans not opening to allow the fluid to cool in the radiator. (of couse that is if these transmission have a t-state in them or on them to control fluid temp)
I haven't had time to check the fluid condition yet, but I want to know if anyone can recommend a rebuild shop in the Orange County So Cal area. The trans and car have 140k. So I am think of go start for a rebuild, have a shift kit installed and be done with it. The other option I was think was pick up a rebuild that has a shift kit installed and worked and rebuilt valve body form a company out of state and install my self.
Shoot you recommendations and who to stay away from please. Thanks in advance for the help.

So I check the fluid color from the Dip stick and it is clean. Nice Red color. Does anyone know if these transmissions have fueled t-states that open to allow fluid to cycle throw the cooler or is it always cooling the fluid?
Just noticed the typo I had on the last post. Fueled to be Fluid.
I also pulled the P0700 fault with the P0841 Trans Fluid Press Sens/Switch A Circ Range/Perf. I know many times when you see a fault for a sensor it is usually pointing to the system it is monitoring. Seeing the past history I have had with this I am still thinking valve-body of solenoid back.
What are your experiences with cold start up pressure and slipping on these trucks?

Update:
I had some time to finally look at the truck. I got under it and looked around. As I worked my way up to the front of the engine I noticed some dried coolant trails coming from the water pump weep hole. Keep in mind the truck never over heated nor did the temp gauge get go over the mid way point.
Right away I knew the trans fluid was getting hotter then what was a good working temp. I replaced the water pump and have been driving the truck with out any slipping taking place.
Know I still have the issue with the truck wanting to pull itself forward when the break is a applied and sometime stalling as there is to much pressure in the system due to a valve body spring hang in up, check ball issue or valve hanging. Possible the solenoid pack as well. I will get on later. I have gone this lone with it.
So Durango Marty, you were right about a mechanical problem causing the slipping, just not in the transmission.
