Angry Electronics Fried During Radio Install

Well, took my '06 into GeekSquad at the local Best Buy store. They replaced my head unit and did a good job, so I figured I'd give them some more work.

I wanted to replace the factory door speakers (4) and add a small amp for them.

The guy calls and says the thing will be ready at 8:45pm (he's had the truck since 4:30pm).

I get there and he says "I ran into a small problem, but I'll fix it for you."

He says the driver's power seat no longer works. I get into the truck, which was really hard cause I'm 6'1" and the seat is all the way forward!

The heated seat switches no longer work either. I have no idea what he fried when he said he smelled smoke.

Am I wrong in asking for my truck to be taken to the dealer to be looked at and fixed? I also want a rental paid for by Best Buy while my truck's in the dealership.

The radio install guy says he can fix it, but I think this work is beyond the job description of a stereo installation guy.

He should fix it or compensate you to get it fixed. I would take it to another slightly more competent person.

The manager's going to let me take it to my mechanic for an estimate on Monday. If it's over $250 (which it's definitely going to be), then corporate has to get involved.

Hope it's not a lengthy process. I just wish I had something to drive until it's fixed.
