Default Mopar CAI 2005 Durango

Anyone have any inside info on the new Mopar CAI for the '05 HEMI Durango? I heard its a collaboration between AEM and Mopar and rumor has it that warranty work would be granted on this intake only and no other aftermarket intakes. I found no part number for the '05 Durango, only the '04 on AEM's site but Moparpart shows a part number of P5153370, but no pics. Is there any truth regarding aftermarket parts and warranty work?

to void a warranty, the stealership must PROVE that the CAI actually caused to warranty issue at hand. I believe that it was passed as a federal law due to the rising numbers of vehicles which have CAIs.

It isn't just cold air intakes. Anything you do to your vehicle to modify it is covered by the Magnuson-Moss act. It states that anything a person does to modify their vehicle must be proven as the cause of a problem or issue that requires factory warranty work in order for it to be voided. Intake\exhaust work should be very safe as far as getting all your warranty work done. Just be smart about it. If you put a blower on your vehicle and increase power by 50% or something a dealership will have a hell of an argument against replacing a blown engine or transmission. However everything else not related to that large power increase would still be covered. (Suspension, electronics, etc)

Is it possible for an aftermarket CAI to cause a computer problem and therefore any warranty work on the computer not be covered???

Will the computer on an '05 Hemi Durango self adjust w/the new CAI installed after about 200 miles like the early 2000 model Dodge's did?

Thanks

No it won't cause any cpu problems. Yes it will self adjust but it is always best to disconnect your negative battery cable for an hour or more to reset the computer after any mods so that it learns the changes immediately and gives you maximum gains and fuel economy within the first 10 miles of driving.
