Default Preventing hydroloc, which gaskets?

Hi guys I called a shop and they said they'd charge me 2 hours to do the job so am gonna get them to do preventative maintenance on my 04, hemi.

Question is, what gaskets to change, a link would be helpful for the actual parts. From what I see some people say "intake gaskets" others say "intake manifold gaskets". I am not knowledgeable about vehicles so I'd like to make sure they are the same thing.

Also while they are there taking all things off should anything else be changed?

And finally any tips or special requests I can make to the mechanic?

Winter is nearly here and after winter when the snow melts the truck will see a lot of water and am beginning to be concerned, I have siliconed the cowl to the windshield and done my best to keep the water out of the engine so that's done.

Thanks for the help,

rr

Depends on what job your talking about as to what gaskets you need. I'd go to a parts store and ask for sure. As far as preventing hydroloc, as long as you are not driving in lakes, you should not have any problem. If snow melt around the cowl was a problem, it would come from the factory with silicon around the cowl. I think you are thinking too much.

I've read that the model I have is prone to having water pool on the engine and then get sucked in, thereby blowing the engine. I have personally bought parts off of 3 durangos that had this happen to them so that's why am concerned. I thought $200 bucks investment as insurance was a decent deal.

The truck has 190,000 kms on it and thought its about time.

Thanks for the reply.
