Spark Plug Change
Today I took on the challenge of changing the spark plugs in my 2008 dodge Durango 5.7. I got the whole drivers side done, but couldn't really get to the passenger side due to a bar or pipe coming up, and going back towards the firewall. Can anyone tell me what exactly this pipe is for? I seen where I could loosen the screws and disconnect it, but I didn't want to do that not knowing what it was.
Thanks,
Thanks,
The rear passenger side plugs are a b!tch! ended up using u-joint socket (might have been 2, don't quite remember) attachment and a few 3" extensions and a 6". I don't remember the exact ratchet setup order, but you have to go piece at a time, or close to.
Real pain, but you only need to loosen the plug and then can use a 6-8" piece of rubber fuel hose (3/8?) to slip over the end and finish removing and re-installing the plugs. I think it took me 3.5 to 4 hours for both sides. But I think I took at least on coffee and one beer break in there.

You can gain excellent access on the passenger side if you take out the black splash shield wheel liner in the fender. It seems like extra work but from experience It is a much easier way. You will need a plastic rivet gun from harbor freight and some plastic rivets to get the splas shield back on.
The job was much easier this way.
