Default oil pressure indicator 08 Durango 5.7L

My 08 Durango 5.7L has been using 10w40 every oil change... Just found out that its specs only require 5w20. Now I am seeing the oil pressure indicator go off every time my truck is on idler, but it will go out when I begin to accelerate. Can using wrong oil cause a big and expensive problem?
Please help!!! I use my truck for work. And I work 7 days ... Its my work tool. Thank you

Doesn't the oil cap say '5w-20' on it? I would think that the 'heavier' 10w-40 would not lubricate the finer passages as the 'lighter' 5w-20. The lower viscosity oil you have been using for the last six years may have more of an detrimental impact on your engine and fuel economy during the warmer months.

Thats why I do my own oil changes. Don't have to worry about "people" putting the right oil in.
