04 durango no dome light...

Unhappy 04 durango no dome light...

Hello all, So I just urchased a new Durango 5.7l 2004 durango. as night came I was not able to use ANY dome light. morning I checked ALL fuses and where good, checked buld and good, there is no corruption, where else can I check before going schematics, thank

Check to see if your recalls were addressed as one is for electrical and poses a fire hazard. www.safercar.gov

SUMMARY:
ON SOME SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES, UNDER CERTAIN OPERATING CONDITIONS, AN INTEGRATED CIRCUIT IN THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER THAT CONTROLS INTERIOR LIGHTING MAY OVERHEAT.
CONSEQUENCE:
THIS COULD POTENTIALLY CAUSE AN INSTRUMENT PANEL FIRE.
REMEDY:
DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE CLUSTER FOR DAMAGE AND REPLACE IT FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON APRIL 2, 2007. OWNERS MAY CONTACT DAIMLERCHRYSLER AT 1-800-853-140.

Yes, there was a recall on the Cluster. The cluster operates the dome lamps.


If you get a used one, you'll likely have the same problem.


If a dealer puts a Chrysler one in, it will likely be the first of 3 they have to replace...lol (because they're crap)
