Why leveling kit over cranking the bars up?

Why leveling kit over cranking the bars up?
Drove 2006 Durango with the SuspensionMaxx leveling kit and it rode very nicely. What is the advantage of a kit like that over just cranking the bars up with stock arms? I want to level out our "new to us" 2004 Durango.
