Default VIN Tracing

Does anyone know where to find a raised VIN on the 04 Durango? To register the car here in PA, you have to trace the VIN...obviously you can't get to the one on the dash. Is there another that can be traced?

Absurd is putting it lightly. Especially since most cars you can't get to the VIN in the dash anymore. The other option is get a registered mechanic or notary to sign off on an MV40 form. Or a police officer. They should tell you that first instead of having you try to figure out the dash thing. I had to call the Dodge dealerships and none of them knew of another traceable VIN THEN I found that form.

I live in Pennsylvania and I never had to trace a VIN unless it was one of my older cars (1969 - 1971). Are you sure about the VIN tracing?

You can trace the one on the dash as I have done it on my 1969 Coronets and a 1971 Ddoge Demon. IT is not very easy, but get a pencil and a piece of paper and rub the pencil over the paper and VIN.

I told them it was an 04 Durango. Guess it's the new way of doing things. Unfortunately on newer cars they make it hard to get to the VIN. Impossible on the Durango without pulling the dash out.
