Default 2009 4.7 (corsair) head gasket question

I need to replace a head gasket on the (new) 4.7 corsair engine, I have done head gaskets on other make ohc motors.

Does the timing cover have to come off to change the head gasket on this motor? I believe it does on the older 4.7's because the timing chain guide is actually part of the head. Is this motor the same way?

I have a wedge tool that I have used in the past on other motors, is there any other way to hold the tensioner so it doesn't extend when the head is removed?

thanks

no one has done a head gasket on the newer 4.7? or even knows if it comes apart like the older one?

I think HammerZ71 (an administrator) did one a few years ago. You may want to PM him.
