2006 dodge durango how to keep running
Hi I just bought a 2006 dodge Durango with the 5.7l and 5 sp auto 4x4. 11000miles. I would like it to go for another 50000 or more. I have heard that water leaks past the cowling for the wipers and causes problems. I have also read that the exhaust bolts and gaskets need replacing. Also The intake manifold gaskets could leak.
Are there other problems to deal with?
Are the stock intake gaskets adequate to keep out water if they are replaced?
How do you fix the cowling ?
any other suggestions would be much appreciated

I'm new here, my second post. But I just bought a 05 5.7 awd Limited. Dodge came out with a new revised cowl, you can find it on sites(eBay etc) for about $110 new Mopar part. Mine had old style so I just bought the new style(had a little taller part around wiper holes, my old one were almost flat, letting more water run it, and there's a few other changes they made. You will need the cowl and but some replacement push rivets(think that's what they are called ..about $5). What I did, is under cowl I put clear silicone under edge that sits on windshield to stop any water getting by and on edges. My D has 120k miles on it and since I just bought it, I don't know if any past issues, hopefully not. I want to modify a engine cover off a Hemi charger if I could fit it somehow, space is so limited in these Ds.
