Looking to replace my head unit in a '05 Durango Limited, but retain the Infinity sound system and DVD unit without issue. I know this topic has been posted, and I know its possible. But im unable to find the threads say how too.
Any help would be a appreciated!!
Just a updated to share;
The harness PAC RP4-CH11is the newest version and will retain steering wheel controls, as well as retain use of the Infinity system.
The PAC C2R-CHY4 is the older version, which will work. But it does not have the steering wheel controls.
Hope this helps others.

I just put a ddx-896 I had laying around in my Durango with the Infinity 9 speaker system. I used all Metra products, the 99-6510 dash kit, Metra 40-cr10 antenna adaptor, axxess aswc-1 steering wheel control adaptor and the axxess chto-01 to retain fade/balance/can features to work with the factory amp. I am very pleased with everything except maybe the dash kit, I would have liked the stereo to sit flush with the dash, as it is now, it sticks out a little less than 1/4 inch. The axxess chto-01 has a gain **** you turn, so I fine tuned it to match the Kenwood. Zero issues on the install, was easy to install and sound quality is so much better, gets louder now than most people would need and stays sounding good, no noticeable distortion. Stock nav radio sounded terrible in comparison, bass is better now, mids are much better, the stock speakers actually sound great, if I was going to do anything now, I think adding a small 10 inch amplified sub would make this system sound fantastic. I have a Awd Durango, so I don't have esp, the empty hole on bottom left next to heated seats, I removed the plug and added a USB/audio port that gives USB and audio jack, then ran cables to stereo. The USB/audio or you can do HDMI are about size of 12v socket hole, so looks OEM and can put in memory stick to play music etc or audio in jack or out to use headphones. You can find the USB/audio and USB/HDMI port on Amazon, pretty cool setup and looks OEM.
Just seen post said to retain factory DVD system. My Durango only has the 8 speaker + subwoofer OEM infinity system, I have no idea about the OEM DVD retention. But for anyone with the Infinity system, I posted part #s, works fantastic.
