Question 07 Durango No Fan Speeds At All

Hey Folks,
I have a 2007 Durango that has no available Fan Speeds. This occurred without any prior warning. Started vehicle (of course was 95 out) and went to turn on AC and No Fan Speed options of any sort. There is some air being moved out of the vents, I feel the cold when AC is on, but I have no fan when I turn the **** to any speed. My concern is that I have read all about the resistor, which is a common issue, but it seems that the resistor failing leaves the fan on permanent high. That is not the case here.

So has anyone had this No Fan at all dilemma? Could it still be a resistor? Is the control panel more likely? (BTW, I do NOT have the digital controls and my Rear AC is fine BTW)

As always, Thank You for your time.

Thanks YugoBoss for replying. And you are right, well kinda. I say that only so if anyone finds this thread they will be enlightened. While yes the resistor was bad, the real problem was the cable plug, which is very common I am finding out. The entire inside of that plug that fits on the resistor had melted and shorted out. Now because I didn't have the plug, my buddy went way above and beyond and made the old plug work with this caveat, GET THE REPLACEMENT PLUG YESTERDAY. So on Ebay they actually sell just a resistor, the plug, and 5 butt connectors for around $25 shipped. Basically all of the above mentioned components failed.

Again, thanks for your reply YugoBoss, and you are right, I just thought I needed to expound on it. Why these manufacturers make this "****e" components again and again I'll never know. Any way you look at it it boils down to bad engineering. Something is causing too much heat. Surprised no reported fires. And then to top it off they used a TORX in just an offset angle that a regular TORX will not handle it. Luckily my buddy is a locksmith and had these super thin shaft TORX that handled it. Wishing all 2007 Owners well (in fact all Gen 2 Owners and the Gen 1s also have them but its a bit different but they do blow), from what I have read you are gonna get this issue sooner or later, or if you aren't the Original Owner, hope someone else did it already!

Below is a pic of the plug and the resistor. (Ignore the text on the pic, I sent to a junkyard buddy to see if he had just the plug, since I already have the resistor) That can be found on Ebay for about $25 shipped. Just Google "2007 Durango Blower Motor resistor plug" or anything close and you will get a page with options. Some say you should do the Motor as well, but I'm the cheap guy and had run outta "Hey Buddy can you help me out?" Don't think he was up for a fan motor!
