Ball joints
So at 120,000 miles my front ball joints were replaced. 4 years later at 138,000 miles they needed replaced again. I bought the Durango in 2006 with 16,000 miles on it and now it is my third car and only gets driven about 100 miles a week. I know everyone at the dealership and the owner asked me to call Chrysler and see if some financial relief could be found. So I did. Now here is what I was told. The ball joints didn't get enough use and they dry out so periodically they should be greased if the car is going to sit. No help would be available. Well, as you all know, the ball joints are sealed and not serviceable. Oh well, I told the dealership owner this and he was dumbfounded. At least he will help out with the cost because he is a good guy. Where does Chrysler get these guys who don't know what's up?
dealer principles don't fix cars they sell them.
did they actually measure the play...you're allowed 0.020" in both upper and lower bj.
i always replace bj with the best oem part available...never go cheap on bj.
