Default Aftermarket head unit...weird problem

Thanks for looking...I searched and could not find this issus addressed anywhere. 2006 Durango Limited, Infiniti system, 5.4 Hemi 4x4.

Scenario - Bought the truck used last month. Came with an aftermarket single din head unit. I have an Appradio4 to install in place of it. I've done several installs on my cars so have a reasonable grasp of the issues...and have read up as much as possible on this vehicle and challenges it could present. While removing the single DIN, I discovered the following:
  1. OEM Infiniti amp was removed
  2. A spliced-in bypass was installed at the AMp harness location by passenger feet. This included two OHM resistors (assuming these were to help take the 4 ohm output of the cheap single din radio down to the 2 ohm range for the infiniti speakers
To begin the process, I removed the radio and the spliced in wires and repaired the original cables (Basically just wrapping exposed section as the just wrapped the splice onto wire versus cutting). I found a replacement OEM Inifiti amp (Actually have 2 of these now) which I reconnected tot he stock harness. I purchased the METRA kit (had the issue I am about to describe)....then bought the RP4-CH11 thinking this one will be the fix. Not so far.

Issue:
Primary issue is when I connect the blue RADIOPRO4 unit to the included harness A, my dash lights go nuts. By this I mean it sits normal...then the dash lights click off, the battery light comes on, the tach drops to zero, and then cylces back to normal. Happens every 3-15 seconds but not in any exact time loop. Every so often the seatbelt sign comes on too. As soon as I unplug that blue unit from the harness, all goes back to normal. I had the EXACT same issue with the METRA when I connected the Black unit they send with that harness. I followed the instructions exactly as best I could (the A harness extra yellow and black wires which the B harness doesn't). I called PAC this morning and the tech seemed adamant the harness is connected right (not 100% sure myself) and that it is data/communication issue or the unit is defective. I can't see it being defective since I had the same issue with the Metra one.

Questions
1. Is the CAN BUS down due to installing an OEM amp back into the vehicle? IE: Does the ECM have to be reprogrammed and that state not allowing the CAN BUS to communicate?
2. Is there a connection issue in my wiring? IE: I'm not totally sure I connected the AMP turn on wire thing straight. If not, would that be causing this is the amp is not getting turned on?
-I connected the two Blue/White wires together on the harness and jumped it directly to the DKGRN/RED wire in the smaller OEM harness. I did not use the bright blue wire in the harness as it connects to nothing on the other side in the OEM harness. All I could find was decription that the amp turn on wire is that color...not sure I have the real wire I needed on the vehicle side.
3. I tired cycling the key on and off and even disconnected the battery a few times to try and reset the computer. No changes... Is this just a rogue cut wire the first owner may have hit that I'm not seeing?
4. ???? any other ideas?
