Mopar and Bosch O2 Sensors
Almost a YEAR fighting this one. I replaced O2 Sensors on right side of 2006 Durango with 4.7l engine with Bosch O2 sensors from Autozone.
This did not work, so I spent some time researching and looking in apparently the wrong places, because the next step was to replace the ECU.
Ordered ECU and replaced it only to find out that I had to find someone to program the damned thing. Yeah, this was my first time dealing with this situation.
OK. ECU programmed. Ready to go, right? Not so fast.
Engine DID run better, apparently ECU did clear SOMETHING, but the right side was STILL running rich.
Finally checked here for suggestions and found a reference to not using BOSCH sensors on Mopar. OK.....why?
Bought Denso sensors and installed them. Engine started right up and runs like a scalded ape....as far as 4.7l's can run like that. :0)
To Autozone's credit, they gave me back my money for the Bosch sensors I bought in Dec 2016.
I will be shouting from the rooftops for everyone to hear, "DO NOT USE BOSCH O2 SENSORS ON MOPAR!"
Thank you, DodgeForums. I wish I had been smart enough to check here first.
