Have a 2004 Durango SLT AWD 4.7 V8. It is making a popping noise in the rear of the vehicle. The only time it makes the noise is if the rear of the vehicle goes down slightly, like taking off on an up hill and if you are stomping on the gas at the same time. Rear diff fluid and rear end are fine. Transmission shifting while driving is perfectly fine, no hesitation, no slipping, etc. What does this popping sound like it is coming from?

 

Check your subframe and rear diff bushings
