I have a 2006 Limited with the Hemi. I started noticing that sometimes when putting in gear from Park it would seem to hesitate and sometimes slip for a second before fully engaging. If I shift from Park to Neutral and leave it there a couple seconds then shift to Drive or Reverse all is well.

I read that others had problems with the flat tranny filter unseating and causing this problem. I took it to my trusted tranny shop and had them check it out. They tightened some screws on a plate that are notorious for coming loose and put new filters in it. It was fine for about 2 weeks then once it a while the old problem is back.

I have read that the 4wd tranny filter has a longer neck on it than the 2wd. Is this true? Should I try checking the filter install myself?
