Default Check engine light blinking, shaking when accelerating

2007 Durango
The check engine light has been on for a while. When it's cold outside the truck will usually die at a stop once or twice if the truck is not warmed up. We couldn't figure out the problem. During the summer, there is no issue with this. For the past couple of days the check engine light has been blinking and beeping, up to 6 times per drive, and the truck will shake when accelerating. Once the truck is warmed up to normal temp, it seems to be ok with minimal shaking. Any ideas?

Blinking check engine light is telling you there is an active misfire, This is very bad for the catalysts and will cause them to fail.

Post the codes for a better opinion.

Yes. A misfire. Continuing to drive will cause damage.
