Hey everybody, well here's the situation... I have a 2008 Durango SLT 4.7 two wheel drive... it has 352,000 miles on it.. thing still runs like an absolute champ... well a couple weeks back I lost fourth gear on the way home... Seeing his only had about a mile and a half to go I just eased it down the road to the house... Seeing as it's such a high mileage vehicle what I really want to do is just get a used transmission from a salvage yard and pop it in... The issue that I seem to be having is you're telling me 2008 was a stand-alone year... Meaning a 2007 or 2009 transmission will not fit... I have the 545rfe transmission if I'm not badly mistaken... From my understanding 545 was ran in multiple vehicles the Dakota the ram the Aspen and the Durango... Can I not pull a transmission from a 2007 to 2009 Ram truck? Also would anyone happen to know if it has to be a 4.7 also? My understanding is the 5.7 + 4.7 used the same transmission? Any help or links that you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
