Please Help. Anti-theft System. 2004 Dodge Durango, 5.7L SLT HEMI
Good evening everyone,
Long version.
I desperately need help guys, four days ago I lost my only key to my 2004 Dodge Durango, 5.7L, SLT sentry key. I was able to make contact with the Metro Chrysler Dodge dealership in town and they were able to make me a couple of new transponder keys using the vehicles VIN.
They guy who came out to my car programmed three keys, however, only one was able to turn over the vehicle. I thought this was the end of the problem so I took it over to the hotel and as my wife and I were packing up our belongings into the vehicle it started to flash several of the vehicles dash icons and engaged the anti theft and died. The dealership towed it back over to their area and performed more test and ruled it out to be the SKREEM/WCM key ignition immobilizer not being communicative.
After a day of searching I was able to locate an exact vehicle make and model match of the part which cost $200. Today they programmed the component which they were able to talk to. Yet again they are not able to get the vehicle to turn over with only the dash icons/gauges showing. They told me that they would try to bypass the vehicles anti-theft through wiring with still no resolution. This has been a series of the past four going into five days. As they were closing shop for the day they told me they have no idea why its not working and will have to call a expert Monday, but why might I ask? In summary none of their technicians can figure this out. Can anyone that has dealt with this similar problem please give me some insight?
Additionally, this is in the Yukon in Canada. I am supposed to report to Ft Wainwright come February 17th which isnt going to happen as the whole town is closed Sunday and paying 100 dollars a night for a hotel for my kids, wife, pets, and I is getting extremely costly.
Short version.
Lost vehice sentry key, dealership made 3 only 1 worked for 20 minutes. Vehicle dies towed back to dealer, diagnosis SKREEM/WCM immobilizer, replaced with used/new part. Vehicle is able to talk to new part, gets reprogrammed. Vehicle anti-theft still doesnt disengage to turn vehicle over. Technician tries to bypass anti-theft through wiring still same results.

I know this is very easy for me to say and very hard for you to do right now, but you need to take that truck away from the dealer and get it to an electrical specialist. Very very few people have the skill to diagnose these types of issues. As you have unfortunately learned, once you trigger the anti-theft it is very hard to get it working right again. I don't have any useful/practical advice other than it may be time to seriously rethink trying to save it as the cost is just gonna keep rising. Again, I realize this is hardly useful in your current situation, but I have a hard time suggesting spending thousands fixing something on a truck that can be replaced for the same amount.
Good luck, hope it works out.

ran perfect no problems with drive train ever hard to beat the 5.7 hemi !BUT: box is rusted and in need of body work or good used box! also few dents etc:They use a lot of road salt in this neck of the woods..............
Thanks for advice wife would love that!!!
When i get it toed back to my place me and a friend will check it out and try to bring it back to life with the help of this forum .
Good Luck and have a great weekend!
