Default 2005 Durango Door Control Issues

I picked up a used Driver's door for my 2005 Durango after having someone ran into the door in a parking lot. When the door was first replaced, my buddy said everything was working fine, but somewhere between his shop and my house, something went awry. The first issue that jumped up was that the door latch sensor wasn't registering that the door was closed, so the dome light stayed on and the chime kept going off till I completely turned off all of the dash and dome lights (always a good idea while driving at night). The power window controls all worked, but the heated/dimming features of the mirror wasn't working, nor was the mirror position adjuster. Also, the power door lock button isn't working along with the auto-lock feature once you hit 15mph or so (Unless a passenger opened and closed their door). After a nice deep freeze and the battery dying, when it was jump started, all of the problems stayed the same, except one: The door was now registering always closed, so no dome light upon entry... ok, two: now my airbag light is on. Checked all wiring and everything appears to be good. No pinched wires. My guy even swapped out the door window/lock switch for the original one, but still nothing. We're at a loss here, especially since the panel lights up when the headlights are on. Any ideas?
