Default 07 With EVAP and O2 codes

I have an 07 Durango, 4.7 V8 4x4.

I have 4 engine codes, P0455, P0456, P0058 and U1403.

I figure I can probably clear the first 2 by replacing the gas cap because I also sometimes get a "fuel cap" message on the dashboard.

I was hoping someone could help me locate the bank 2 oxygen sensor so I can diagnose and repair that issue (for the P0058 code).

I can't find a meaning for the U1403 code. The closest definition I found indicates a computer problem but it wasn't clear at all, just a bunch of what I can only describe as rambling nonsense (p/c definition: broken english).

Any and all help is very much appreciated. I've used these forums before with great success. Thanks everyone!

P0058 DODGE - O2 Sensor 2/2 Heater Circuit High

Possible causes

  • Faulty Heated Oxygen Sensor (H2OS) Bank 2 Sensor 2
  • Heated Oxygen Sensor (H2OS) Bank 2 Sensor 2 harness is open shorted
  • Heated Oxygen Sensor (H2OS) Bank 2 Sensor 2 circuit poor electrical connection
  • Heated Oxygen Sensor (H2OS) Bank 2 Sensor 2 circuit fuse
  • Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM)
Sensor 2 would be the one after the catalytic converter....do you have 4 o2 sensors?

As far as I know, yes. Honestly, this is my first adventure into oxygen sensor replacement. I found the one under the vehicle on the driver's side, but haven't been able to find any of the others...

yes. you have rear 02 sensors b2s2 is passenger side rear

disconnect the o2 sensor connector and measure the resisant of the heater element in the sensor...it should be between 2 and 30 ohms at room temp...if not replace the sensor

the u code....if its stored, clear it out and forget about it. If it resets and is an active code...address it at that time.

the evap codes...if your guessing without testing and parts are cheap. if the first part doesn't fix it...go to the next.
replace in this order. clear the code. it will take approx. 1 week for the code to reset if the problem is not fixed.
gas cap
esim
purge solenoid

just be aware it may not be a leak at all but an open wire to the esim switch. if you have a scan tool that can monitor esim switch state. It should be normally open, start the truck and it should close when the purge valve opens or when you put vacuum on the purge line. If it closes when under vacuum, release the vacuum...open the gas cap...the switch should open.

primem,

Thank you very much, super helpful! I have a good source for parts, just lack the time I need, which I assume is pretty common problem. This is good stuff though, I think I'll proceeding in that direction and really appreciate the time you put into responding to my problem. Thanks again!
