No brake Lights
Hi all, 2006 Dodge Durango Adventurer 5.7L Hemi 126k
Yesterday my brake lights no longer work. The top brake light on the hatch works but, not the other two where the turn indicators are.
I don’t know where the fuse is, if there's a fuse for them and is there a brake switch that I might need to replace?
I don’t think it’s the bulbs. That would be too coincidental for both to go out at the same time. Also, when I turn on the lights, the rear lights come on except when I press on the brake pedal. I tried searching for a brake switch for the model I have but, I don't seem to find a switch.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

This will sound strange, but change the tilt of your steering column. The wire harness that goes up to the steering wheel is in a spot that causes the wires to break inside of the insulation. The fact that it's the turn signals as well makes me think that might be the problem. If you find a spot that lights them up, you have a harness repair not switch problem.
Update. Still no brake lights. I replaced the mini bulbs and the brake switch. When I turn on the head lights, all the bulbs light up in the back except for the brake light above the hatch. When the headlights are off and I press on the brake pedal, no brake lights, except the light above the hatch. I checked the fuses, they all seem good. I swapped the fog light relay with the brake batt relay ( which are both exact relays) and still nothing. Turning on the headlights confirm that all the bulbs work in the back because I can see them lit.The turn signals work as well.
I followed the instructions when installing the brake switch. Still no brake lights.
I don't know where else to look.
Is there something else I can check that I might have overlooked?
Is there a fuse I should check in the internal panel?
My wife drives the car with the children and I'm very worried that all she has is the top brake light in use.
I have no idea where else to look.

I went back to the truck to look at the #25 15A fuse in the engine. I pulled it out and it looks fine. I put it back, started the car and now the Brake indicator on the dash is on.
Now I am baffled on why the indicator light would come on.
