I am looking at buying a 2009 Chrysler Aspen, it has a 5.7 hemi and I recently test drove the car. That was my first experience with a hemi and what an engine! Incredible. There was a "cooler" that was leaking in the engine bay, lower front drivers side, maybe it is the evaporator? I don't know. I've looked at part diagrams, but I came away more confused. Does anyone know what part this is? It looks like it is leaking, I guess internally, as it appears dark on the lower section of the part.
just looking at the line coming in from the body, It looks like an A/C line so probable the A/C condenser. If its not red dripping out that I would say almost for certain it is. Its been a minute since I've been under the hood of an older 5.7 though
Thank you for that info. It's got to be the condenser then, I didn't see any red fluid dripping out of it. I had a first generation Durango before, and they totally change the location of the evaporator. Unfortunately (or fortunately) when I pointed this out to the person who was selling the Aspen and they denied there was a problem. That made me question how much service was actually performed on the vehicle, as he had no records to share with me. I respectfully declined to buy the car.
