Default Rear end?s help me out

I just purchased a 2005 Durango with the 5.7 hemi and I am almost positive that it's a rear end change and I have to ask if they are going to be interchangeable with anything else and what would be best for me to do anything to help me out with the process and problem with that it's a great help for a bit of a novice and a shade tree mechanic thanks in advance

I think they still use the 9.25 rear. So just a pinion carrier setup could be used from several different places though if going to the work I would just use a new gear set. If it just needs bearings they could be changed. If the spider gears are slipping or the clutch pack is burnt they could easily be replaced also. Short of a damaged housing no real reason to replace it all other that ease. I think you'll be limited to 04-09 Durango's for replacement assembly, as they're the only place the 9.25 is used with coil springs and disc brakes that I'm aware of.
