Default Bad oil leak

Hey! I’m posting the first time but I’ve been a long time lurker. My Durango is 2011 Crew V6, bought used with 134,000 miles in 2021. Now it has 147,000 miles! Just got home from fixing an ac leak, Schrader pieces were replaced and ac recharged. They noted “bad oil leak from oil cooler and intake manifold”. Also noted “front cover rtv gasket excessive”.

I had the oil changed back in March this year and they never said anything about an oil leak. Could this happen slowly over time or quickly. I don’t know a lot about cars but this place is quoting me $900 to fix it. Please help me understand how those things work! Thank you!

Try posting in the 3rd gen Durango.

$900 sounds excessive to me. Do you see a big oil puddle or any oil puddle under where you park?

I did post in 3rd gen! I noticed right after posting it was in 2nd gen. I park my 11 Durango where I used to park my ‘03 Durango that had a bad oil leak. Today I parked it at a friends who has a brand new drive way. There were no puddles!! I agree that the price was excessive!
