Universal garage door opener
I just bought my 2005 hemi durango but the dealer did not have the owners manual. Can somone post the directions to programming the universal garage door opener? the dealer is ordering the manual, but it will take awhile.
Thank you
Thank you
It wasn't that difficult but it is a PITA to have to hold onto 2 buttons to get the lights blinking to wipe out any existing codes. But once the button of your choice starts to blink, hold down only to the one you want assigned and keep clicking your remote about 2 inches away from the display. Just make sure that your batteries are fresh even though they still work as that was the mistake I made. The signal strength is affected with weak batteries.
Then it should work like a charm and will be worth the trouble.

The easy way:
1. press and hold the button you want to re-programm until it start to flash slowly.
2. while flashing, press and hold your garage beeper at 2 inches from the overhead console
3. as soon as you see the light flashing at a faster speed release both buttons.
4. test the new programming
Note: during steps 1 to 3, you need to keep pressing the overhead button to be programmed until step 3 is completed. The whole process should take you around 1 minutes.
The manual explains how to reset all three buttons at once but I think the above procedure will get you on track right-away.
