I would like to know if it wil help the performance if I was to remove the rubber deflecter that is between the intake opening in the air filter box and the grill of a Durango.
This will give the air cleaner box a ram air effect.
And what is the sensor used for that is mounted on the raidator support in front of the air filter box. Thanks

 

I removed the rubber on mine and didn't notice much, but when I removed the air box and install a CAI Spectra filter from Pep Boys and reset the computer and calibrated the gas pedal..... oooohhhhh yeeeeaaaahhhh!! Total cost of project $63.00, Spectra SUV/Truck CAI filter, engine oil breather filter that matchs CAI filter, 3'w x 4L PVC pipe and ten mins of time. While doing mod Disconnect battery and reconnect when finished and calibrate gas pedal (see my page under service manual link), and go smoke the tires! Good luck.
