Default Durango 0-60 mph Performence?

Hi All,

New to the forum. Getting a Hemi 4x4 Limited in a few weeks. Had a question: Couldn't find stats on the 0-60 mph stats on the Hemi, has anyone any timings they actually tested for themselves?

Thanks

Hey zulfi63-

I have a Hemi Limited AWD and ran it with my G-timer with 1 passenger, and it ran a 7.5. That was with only 3k on it, and 12.3 to 80, then needed to slow down, it will do better around 10k or so. I would advise getting one. I LOVE it, just today, this kid in a new Celica GT-S tried beating me from a stop, and I smoked him, as well as a GTP Grand Prix, and a modded Civic Si(actually, the Si was toasted by my dads truck, also with a Hemi). They are VERY quick for their size, and I bet it wouldn't have too much trouble beating an Armada(Nissan's full size, comparable in performance). Also, very good in snow with the AWD. Are you getting the Traction Control option? I personally don't think you should, does awesome in bad weather w/o it. We have no rattles in our @ about 5600 mi. wich wasn't so with our truck. I will post when I do another run with a 1/4 mile time. Oh, and what color you looking at? We have the Dark grey..not sure what the actual name of it is.

Have fun and, lets hear about some rice cookin' when ya get it!! [sm=smiley20.gif]

Hi 03ramhemi

Wow impressive! javascript:void(AddText(''))

May I ask within what speeds should I keep under, and until how many km?

I have already paid a down payment on the Hemi Durango Limited, arrives on the 30th in the country, so all being well, should have it delivered within 7 days after. Very much excited & looking forward to it. Only test drived a 4x2 SLT. Not sure actually of options on the Limited, basically the package the delears offer here are a 'fully loaded' Limited, the only things here optional on the Limited, according to the brochure, are the following: 1)Side-curtain airbags; 2) Traction control; 3)Third Row 50-50 split (requires leather seats); 4)Sunroof; 5) Heated seats; 6) Running Boards. I know for sure that the Limited I have ordered (Flaming Red) has options 3,4 & 6. Will call dealer to check on the others. Didn't have much choice on the colour as all the 4x4's are being sold or reserved as soon as shipped, which is when the dealer recieves the details. Prior to that they dont know the details. Infact they said they didn't know what leather trim is on my order as it wasn't mentioned on the manefest. Anyway, I do indeed like the Red, definately a looker! if I wanted to choose any other colour I would have to wait a further month at least... so I was told!

Thanks for your reply, and indeed once i have it I'll post you some 'rice cookin'. javascript:void(AddText(''))

Hello,

I'm not sure what you mean by "what speed should I keep it under". If your talking about to keep it easy while you break it in, then I would just not run it to hard, and just fluctuate your speed when on freeway/cruise cont. until around 3k(miles, I live in Washington State, so not too familiar with KM) But getting on the throttle here and there wont hurt it, in the break in process.

See ya, Austin

ORIGINAL: ..........this kid in a new Celica GT-S tried beating me from a stop, and I smoked him, as well as a GTP Grand Prix, ...........

Congrats on the race, but I am guessing that the kid in the Celica GT-S and the driver in the GTP did not know how to properly launch their cars, as both of those cars properly launched are 0-60 times of about 6.7 secs. But a win is a win !!!

I've always been told to break in an engine like you will use it.

the break in is going to be determened by how you drive. if your gonna sissy foot it then do so. if you going to beat the hell out of it do so. i build race car motors and just pound them for the first 30 minutes so i know if there good or not and normally only blow 1 motor a season. some goes with clutches install and drive like its old. im working on a rebuild for my 318 and im completely planning on just tacking the truck mudding after i get the motor in it.
