The OEM hitch will match right up. Get some help just to hold it in place because it is awkward to handle. Line the bolt holes up with the holes in the frame run them down. There should be a wiring schematic included, but it should involve anymore than pluging directly in line with an existing connector.
Hi JasonWYO,
Have you installed your tow hitch on your -D-? Mine is also an SLT without the tow hitch and would like to know how difficult is the installation process. I read at the hitch instructions (over the internet) and it mentions about loosing the rear facia, push it up, and drill the crossmember. That crossmember looks pretty hard to work.
I found the hitch under Draw Tite and Hidden Hitch and it is not a full bar model (there's one available but the more similar to OEM is just the receiver box and some welded plates).
Check the pictures below:

you wont have the connector to plug the harnes into. i know because i spent over an hour looking for it. not saying it cant be done, just saying if your D didnt come with the tow package you wont have the under dash connector.

I also looked at the hidden hitch, however i was not big on there install.. Ive talked to the dodge shop and they told me that the mopar hitch is a bolt in place..no drilling..they also offer a less tow rate hitch that cost less. the wire kit is a conector that goes between the tail lights smoothly.(if mopar). if yours was not equiped in the first place.. however looking under mine a 2005 slt hemi it looks like they might have swaped the hitch and mirrors prior to sale. bolts under D look a little rounded and rusty for a new D if you know what I mean.................let me know what you find out..................
ERWINF, just picked up my oem hitch from the dealer...bolts right in. you have to remove the rear bumper but not a big deal..
the only drilling you need to do is to remove the old rivets..new ones come with hitch....it does have a little weight to it..so if you have a friend it would be helpfull...do your self a favor and go with the oem. it just looks wright..and when you get it youll see what i mean,
its beefy made solid. it replaces your whole rear cross frame.not like the other ones...this one becomes part of you frame......

Sorry to ask this so late... but... would you please post a picture of your new OEM hitch. Just want to see how it goes. Does it replaces the crossmember with the hitch's one?
I saw the ribets that you mentioned and I thought that it was a trick from Dodge to get us away from working there.
Thanks,

ERWINF,
I was going to take a pic. before I put it on but just plain forgot...yes it does replace your cross member. As a matter of fact
its identicle to the cross member with a hitch welded to it. fits perfect.. i did not however do it my self because you need a body shop rivetgun because the rivets are set in from the foam insert. and my dealer said it would only take .75 hours..it cost me $38.00 plus tax. for that amount why not let them do the work. if you still want pic. i can try taking them from under the D.......

Thanks! Don't worry to take the picture. My concern was about the crossmember and you just answered. You're right about installation. It sounds pretty complicated.
Thanks for the info!
