They should put a 6.1 in it and some strips and make and SRT8 out of it. That would be pretty nice

I diasgree....I did like my 1st gneration however the ride was horrible. Dodge comes out with innovative ideas and looks. I can remember the 1st Durango everyone thought it was ugly until it was on the market for awhile. My 2nd generation Durango rides like a dream, has great power and a ton of room. It is just as rugged as the 1st generation Durango. Dodge simply makes good eye appealing quality products with the help from Mercedes/Diamler.

they should try and make the front more vertical looking like the front of the ram and not slanted back as much...

I agree with firefighter. The suspension, ride, power and brakes are all improved on the new ones, and the ESP is a must on tall SUVs. The sunroof, power tailgate, rear DVD, satellite radio and hemi engine are all great toys that my 03 didn't have. The "minivan" look is simply the result of a very slanted windshield, which, BTW, helps make the wind noise much improved over Gen 1. I call it "Hemi-under-glass"; you know, like that rear-engined Hurst Hemi Barracuda from the late 60's. The Gen 1 Durangos are the best looking SUVs ever, IMO, especially up next to those boxes from Ford and GM (MB and BMW too), but time marches on and nothing says the same. If you like your generation 1 Durango, don't do what I did: trade it for a new one. You might end up quickly forgetting your old one.

I would buy a 2007 Durango. I think it looks good. The only drawback is that I want a 3500 Mega Cab even worse...lol

The first D was a TANK. I hate the way the front end looks on the 2nd and 07 models. Now if they beefed it up a little and squared off the front end, removed the plastic, and set the ride up in the air a little. MAYBE I'll look at one.

Until then "NO WAY!"[:'(]

The only thing that bothers me about the new Durango is the ridiculously large front bumper... Annoys the hell out of me...
