Can anyone tell me why my passenger airbag light is flickering on & off. Does this mean that at the time when the light is on the airbag won't work? Also, the other day when I went to give it some gas while travelling about 45mph it bogged right down. Kinda like trying to take off with your foot on the brake. Then today the check engine light came on! I am supposed to take the family to Chicago this wknd from Michigan. Should I?? Please help

 

First things first since the check engine light is on get that thing to Auto Zone they'll do a free check on that and it'll only take em a minute. That might be the answer to your problem. I would say if it's under warranty get that airbag taken care of immediately by the dealer. The diagnostic at autozone might pull that up too...

 

Is there anything sitting on the seat when this occures, even a light object..
It's set up to automaticaly shut off the airbag when a small child sits in the seat.
If you rest your hand on the seat it will trip the switch to disable the airbag, when
you remove you hand the light should turn off. Hope this helps.

 

if it bogged down when u where trying to accelerate the it could be ur fuel pump..... i just went through this with anothe rof my cars and it ended up needing a new fuel pump and fuel filter. hope this helps... if u lived closer it would be easier for me to help u with diagnosing why it is bogging down.

 

I appreciate all your advice. I can't remember if anything was on the seat at the time but I was on my way to work when it happened so my lunch may have been on the seat. Right know it is at the dealer getting looked at. We'll see.
