Should I remove my resonator?
I have an 04 with the 4.7 motor. I am thinking about removing the resonator and putting two 3" stainless tips in place of it.
Has anyone else done something like this? I am curious what the difference in sound is, better, worse, raspy? I dont want it to sound annoying which is why I am looking for some feedback. If it does then I will probably just get an aftermarket exhaust.

If you do decide to go aftermarket, be careful. I just put on the Flowmaster Cat-back exhaust made for our vehicles and boy am I sorry! Way too loud inside! And this is with a Series 70 muffler which is their quietest one. Sounds kinda cool but after a while I was regretting it. I was thinking of adding on a resonator but it won't fit with this system (2 pipes coming out of the muffler to the tips). Flowmaster suggested wrapping the muffler to reduce the interior noise, but they didn't have any suggestions as to what to wrap it with. It gets pretty hot. I could apply dynamat to the floor of the vehicle but that would be big bucks. If I don't find a solution soon, I'm going to re-install the stock system and ebay the Flowmaster.
Any suggestions for quieting down the interior noise/resonance?

I dunno if you had a 1st gen I'd trade right across the table for your exhaust. I love the sound personally, it is to be expected is what I say. I got my tires and they told me there would be more road noise I just told em I liked the sound, which I do. Maybe just turn up the radio?
I put on the Flowmaster 50 series SUV exhaust. Also removed the resonator at the same time. Total cost was just over $200.00 installed. Sounds great and mileage and performance both increased. I did this on an 04 Durango with the Hemi. Great Bark and not too loud at all
