Fuel Grade

RE: Fuel Grade
We once did a test with fuel grades on an old Chevy. We discovered that the lower grade gave us better fuel economy. Many people are surprised by this because they think that higher cost/higher octane will equal better mileage. From what I've seen this is not the case, and it's quite possibly the opposite.
Also, I've heard it is not uncommon for the same grade to be used for both 89 & 87 at gas stations. But that's merely rumor.
I will have to look back at my manual and see what it says about using 87. I wouldn't mind using 87 if I got better economy and the D ran fine.
