Trans Cooler and Temp gauge
Hello,
This is my first post. Did the searching but couldn't find an answer to my questions. I have a 2006 Durango with the V6 and 4-speed automatic. I am attempting to give it all the help I can since I will be towing up to 3500 lbs. I will be installing a Perma-Cool transmission filter kit with temp gauge for my initial upgrade (on order). The gauge will be used to get base line data to determine if I need an additional cooler. (The V6 has a vertical trans cooler in front of the radiator as std equipment which kind of surprised me). If additional cooling is needed, I will install the appropriate Tru-Cool LPD cooler. I have already installed the factory hitch and 7-wire harness.
My question is, has anyone installed a temp gauge / filter kit and cooler on the 2nd Gen V6? If so, do you have the instructions / installation info available? I have installed trans coolers on 3 previous vehicles but never the filter / gauge kit.
I have also tried to find a reasonably priced Factory Shop Manual (Paper or CD) but no luck so far. Anyone know of a source? Dodge wants a fortune for them!!
Another change I am considering is lowering the D a couple inches. I am short and it is a hassle for me and other vertically challenged people to get in and out of the truck. Particularly a woman in a dress. I know for guys this is not necessarily a bad thing...[sm=nerd.gif]... Women hate it however. Anyone make a lowering kit? Don't want to get into any suspension, handling or other problems so what is the max it can be lowered without changing the ride and handling characteristics?
Thanks for any assistance.
Don
