Default Seatbelt chime

Months ago someone explained how to disable the seatbelt chime.
I believe it was done by using the ignition key. Would someone please post how this may be done.

Thanks

Did you happen to check the owners manual? The instructions are in there.

Just out of curiousity why would you want to disable a safety related warning device? They chime is not designed to be disabled, it is there for your protection. If Dodge Puts how to disable it in the manual then shame on them but that doesnt make it right does it? I recommendnobody post instructions on how to do this. shame on anyone who does!!

I overlooked it in the manuel but have since found how to disable the seat belt chime. I normally wear my seat belt at all times but on occassion when on security patrol I have to drive at slow speed and exit the vehicle rapidly. (after I stop of course).

Itappears Magic84 feels that he would like to restrict what other members post.

I know it's in the owners manual, I've tried it on mine but I seem to fail at it.

It's something like - 1. Turn the key to the on position, 2. wait for the seat belt light to go off. 3. Buckle and unbuckle the belt at least 3 times in 10 seconds and then leave the buckle belted in. 4. Turn the key off.

I'm not sure if you start with the belt in or not, but thats the jist of it.

I hate that damn chime. Sitting in places like a parking lot or drive thru, it's really annoying.

I don't know what vehicle you have but my chime only sounds if I go over 10 mph, I have a 2006 Durango SXT.

The chime's a pain in the a$$. I wear my seatbelt all the time, I don't to hear a DANG - DANG - DANG to remind me. The little dash light is enough reminder.

I did find the directions in the manual. After a few tries I did manage to disable the chime.
