Just bought a used 2002 Intrepid. I love it. However, after we filled it up once...it acts as though something is lodged in the tank, cutting off the gas pump whenever I try to put gas into it.<IMG src=smileys/smiley19.gif border="0"> It's most frustrating. What could possibly be the matter? And how do I fix it? Has anyone else had this problem? Someone told me that "the floater" probably moved up with the fuel when I filled it and got stuck there. I've never heard of such a thing.

 

Alot of newer cars have problems taking fuel or cutting off early. Most have screens in the fuel tube that catches debris and keeps thieves from stealing your gas, thats probably what causes the fuel to back up and kick the nozzle off.
