HAVE A 2002 INTREPID WITH THE 2.7 L ENGINE. I KEEP GETTING THE ENGINE LIGHT ON. I CHECK THE ERROR CODE AND IT IS READING P0441. IS THERE A WEBSITE THAT LISTS THE ERROR CODES FOR MY VEHICLE SOMEWHERE? OR WHAT IS THIS ERROR REFERING TO. THANKS

THANK YOU FOR THE QUICK RESPONSE. I FOLLOWED THE LINK AND I BELIEVE THE EVAP SYSTEM IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ERROR. ANY IDEAS WHERE OR WHAT TO START LOOKING AT OR REPLACING. I AM VERY HANDY AND HAVE PLENTY OF EXPERIENCE WITH OLDER CARS. IF YOU HAVE ANY IDEAS THAT WOULD HELP ME PINPOINT THE PROBLEM I CERTIANLY WOULD APPRECIATE IT. THANKS AGAIN

 

Easiest and cheapest is to start with your gas cap. Make sure it's tight. Then check vacuum lines for any obvious problems. Reset your pcm by either pulling the fuse in the power distribution center under the hood, or unhook the negative battery cable for about 10 minutes. See if the code comes back. Have you done anything like get gas when this usually happens? Done anything under the hood?

 

I HAVE HAD THE A/C FIXED RECENTLY. THERE WAS A STEEL CLAMP HOLDING AN A/C LINE TO THE FRAME. THIS CAUSED A LEAK IN THE ALUMINUM A/C LINE. THE MECH HAD TO REMOVE THE AIR CANISTER. THANKS FOR THE RESPONSE. I WILL LOOK FOR SOME OBVIOUS PROBLEMS. THEN THE GAS CAP.

 

What is the air canister? If you mean the big plastic air evaporative canister then that's where i'd look first, The system basically is a vent to purge the static fuel vapor from the air.
