I am thinking about getting a programable handheld computer. 1 to trouble shoot car issues and 2, do to some tuning.

Thoughts? as I know nothing about them

I would like one unit for both my 2003 SXT and 1999 Ram

If you really want to do this then I hope you have deep pockets. You need a DRB-III scanner. They run about a few grand unless you know people. The scanner comes with all kinds of cables, CDs, cards and the scanner itself. Thing is the PCM in the intrepid, concord, LHS, 300m and such can only be altered if the update codding is newer then what is on the PCM already. Meaning if the PCM was updated last year and you had codding for two years piror then it wouldn't work. Even if you were to try and use the same codding that is already on the PCM, it wouldn't work. Besides there isn't much you can do for the tuning unless you had say a 3.2L motor and you used the 3.5L update then you will see some things. My advise is to use the codding from the 300m special on the intrepid if you have a 3.2L or the 3.5L.
