Rebuilt 2.7 Oil light problem

Default Rebuilt 2.7 Oil light problem

Just rebuilt 2002 2.7 ran fine for about a month then oil light kept coming on when I would come to a stop then go off when I would drive, no leaks, I had put in a new Oil pump during rebuild, so I replaced the oil sending unit this worked for about a week then the light came on again and the car started to loose power, anyone have any ideas? The car still runs but only good for about 10 minutes, Oil light is still on

did you turn the crank when you rebuilt the motor? sounds like the rod bearing clearence is a little loose.have you put a oil pressure gauge on it to see what the oil psi. really is?

Put a new Crank that came with the new barrins custom fit, on the oil pressure no that has not been checked

Have the same problem w/ my 2002 intrepid. Seems to be common w/ the 2.7's. Hopefully it's not part of the reason my car won't start.

Default I had the same thing after rebuild

only mine did it from day one. Just replace the sending unit. It will go out. $10. And yes, my pressure is fine, and yours too most likely.
