With him living in a diferent country, you would difinitely need a long patch cord.
You right, having this as a hobby, can get VERY expensive.
Good Luck and thanks for your imput!!!!!

Default Vibrations (no noise) at high speeds

2002, 2.7L Intrepid. One dark morningI hit an island curb in the intersection on my driver's side front wheel. I've drove it for a while afterwards and all was fine. Until now, I'm feeling vibrations (perhaps on that driver's side) while negotiating right freeway curves. I hear no noise onlu vibrations. Had tires balanced twice and still vibrates. Possible causes I can suspect are:

Wheel hub Bearings?[sm=smiley13.gif]
Ball Joints? [sm=smiley13.gif]
Driveaxle (cv joints)? [sm=smiley13.gif]

Can anyone help a fellow Dodgearian? [sm=hiya.gif]

My first suspicionwould be something bent (Tie rod end, uni-strut, drive axle/CV joint, etc.) Another possible culprit would be a crack in a weld on the rim (If they are steel). I had this happen on my wife old Contour (Previous car). We never could figure out the problem until I sold it to my parents as a run around car. The shake would move every time she had the tires rotated.
However, the wheel bearings are easy enough. Just take the weight off the wheel and see if there is any play. You might need to use a pry bar to give yourself a little more leverage (BE CAREFUL HOW YOU USE IT TO PRY!!). This can also show you if the ball joint are beginning to loosen.
Good Luck!!

Thanks for the input. I did not figure a crack in a weld on the rim. I will take apart the control arm and examine the ball joint, but first I'll check the play before I do anything. I noticed that the vehicle does a slight, soft shift to the left as I take off and when it go into another gear. I suspect cv joint, and yes tie rod end. I will get to examine it on Saturday, and if I see anything that would cause the shake, I will post it here for others...
