I've never worked with blower motors, but you might want to try going to www.ehow.com type in the search pane(removing blower motor). Some videos should pop up, and may give you some insight. I go to this site all the time; however, sometimes it doesn't have what I'm looking for.

Try finding a retainer ring that hold the wheel.

Many times there is a "spring band" (a 1/4 inch wide strip of metal) that compresses the plastic tightly on the shaft. I did read in the second gen manual that they are not serviced separately and must be replaced as a unit (see holy grail at the top of the second gen forum). This may just be Dodge's practice and you can actually get it off. Have you bought a new one yet? If so, I assume it had no wheel. Can you post a picture?
