New to Dodge
I am planning on buying a second gen dodge intrepid. For the gas miles and room of course. I am planning on buying a body kit for it. The viper body kit. I am going to do all the work myself. (YAY
). I was wondering if they made a turbo for any of the engines. I did a little looking but could not find a single one. From what I have read and seen myself turbos help increase fuel economy a few miles. Another thing is they never came in a stickshift. I grew up driving sticks and it makes me sad that they never came with a true stickshift. Otherwise I have no problems with the car. I love the design and the interior room and everything. Ive worked on 6 of them and fell in love with them.
I am looking to either get the 2.7 or the 3.2. And if at all possible the auto stick. Ive seen the quarter mile times and the 0-60s and I would like to do a rework of the tranny sooner or later to give it a bit more kick.
I am not new to the mechanic or body work field. Any info on the turbos or any general info or welcomes would be appreciated.

no go for turbos. the cost of putting one together would cost more than the car is worth (would have to be completely custom and then there are the PCM issues) and then the transmission cannot handle a turbo as well.
if you want a ricer, get a honda (aka turbo and body kit), if you want a reliable family sedan, get a 3.2/5 intrepid. avoid the 2.7 at all costs and save yourself the headaches of engine problems.
as far as reworking the tranny, again there isn't much that can be done.
