evap leak detection-small

as for P0440, P0442, P0455, P0456 codes, check for vacuum leaks from the manifold, to the purge solenoid. and at the LDP or NVLD pumps, depending on which the vehicle has.
also check your gas cap. did you refuel and leave the car running? you can disconnect the negative jump post for a few minutes to reset the check engine light. could have been a fluke or you could have a cracked or dry rotting hose under the hood.

the 1684 simply means the batt has been disconnected within the last 50 starts. no big deal.

I just got these codes too on my 2001 Chrysler Intrepid ED. I reset my computer and they came back about 5 or 6 days later. Has anyone come across this P0456 code and fixed it themselves? Mlkmgr suggested a good starting point but I was wondering if there was one specific weak point in the system that caused this code. Thanks.

double check your gas cap seal. check your small hoses around the plenum near the intake tube. i have had success getting rid of the P0456 with simply finding smaller hoses that have cracks or that have dry rotted near the plenum. squeeze the hoses as well as they may not look to be defective.

Thumbs up

Replaced my gas cap with a new $20 OEM gas cap 4 weeks ago and haven't seen the error code since.

The p0456 is a evap leak detected
P 1684 is "Battery disconnected within last 50 starts"
