ATC Display; Troubleshooting
Hey everyone, I own a 2000 Dodge Intrepid and for the past year or so, the Automatic Temperature Control Display has not been working. To get through the winter, I just set it at the highest possible temp. and if it gets too hot i turn it off. When I went out this morning, it was working perfectly! Then on my way back home, it was back to no display. Anyone have any methods of trying to fix this?? I tried going to Firestone to get a quote on it but they would need to take apart the center console in order to do so.
Thanks

Probably the control head (display itself). It could be the BCM (computer for dash, lights, entry, alarm, etc) or wire problem. To isolate, a DRB scan tool should be used (the head d/n need to come out for this and a Dodge dealer can scan in a min.).
If it is a head (BTW I've seen them on ebay much cheaper in the past), it's easy to install.
If its the BCM, the VTSS (an anti-theft system) has to be enabled with the DRB III scan tool after its replaced. The only place I know to get this done is the dealer. You may want to reconcider going to Firestone for this.
