Default Rough starting 3.2

I have 01 3.2 and when the engines warm it doesnt start good. It turns over 4 to 5 times before it will fire and when it does the engine hesitates before settling to the correct rpms, once running its perfect and i havent noticed any decrease in mileage. It also smokes blue for a little while. It starts fine when its cold or hot. Plugs are new and maintanence is always done on time. Any ideas?

Yea I have a few....
1. Take to local shop and check fuel pressure. Regulator could be out and pressure is too high causing flooding when starting hot. I have seen this before.

2. I would check the EGR valve they can get sticky and cause all kind of problems.

3. I would put OBDii scanner on it and check the O2 sensors, engine temp sensor and timing advance.

That should catch it.

Good luck

I already checked the fuel pressure and its to the correct specs. It also does not drop below 30 psi after 5 min(service manual specs) and the throttle body was cleaned. If thier was a problem with one of the sensors would it display on the dash when you search for trouble codes or would you need a scanner to retrieve it? Thanks for the help

Well you checked the fuel pressure but didnt check anything else I sugested.
Ok if it starts and runs fine when cold but not hot(you weren't very clear) YOU SAID when the engines warm it doesnt start good. It turns over 4 to 5 times before it will fire and when it does the engine hesitates before settling to the correct rpms, once running its perfect and i havent noticed any decrease in mileage. It also smokes blue for a little while. It starts fine when its cold or hot. Apparently according to you the only time theres a problem is when its warm, not hot or cold.
Then check IAT sensor, and ECT sensor.
