Default torque converter

I am about to replace my transaxle on my 02 Intrepid. The manual says to use new torque converter to flexplate bolts. Why? are the old bolts stretched or do they have locktite on them?

Thanks

I'm sure it's not because of locktight. I did see a caution in the manual not to reuse the drive plate to torque converter bolts or the drive plate to crankshaft and to install new bolts whenever these bolts are removed.

Also note the torque converter is indexed to the flex plate. Mark the torque converter location to ensure that the torque converter is reinstalled correctly.

One last note, if the Torque Converter assembly is being replaced, it is necessary to restart the TCC Break-In Strategy via the TCM
