Question 99 intrepid tranny problem

I have a 1999 intrepid es... after washing under the hood of my car my transmission started acting up it will shift in to fourth gear but rev clear up....the only way i can drive it is to use auto stick and run 3rd gear. it showed error code p0700. i thought it was something electronic so i disconnected the battery, i am no longer getting the 0700 code but the problem still exists. What is the problem is it serious? :'[

the 700 only ment there was a code in the TCM. By the battery disconnect, you only erased the fault, it has no effect on fixing a problem. To read a TCM fault, you should go to a trany shop or the dealer to see what is going on. There are many issues within a tranny that cause faults (and malfunctions), just like in an engine. The code and light were a good thing as it could have given insight to the malfunction.

That being said, first try a flush/filter/fluid change. BTW, when was the last fluid/filter change done?
