Default Gasoline smell

I've been noticing the stench of gasoline coming from my HVAC when I have the vent on. It doesn't seem to be there when the HVAC is on recirculation. Any suggestions of what it may be?

gas leak in the engine area. Prob leaky seals on one or more fuel injector. Find and fix ASAP, also make sure you cary a fire ext. in you car at all times (one that works on cargo fire (ABC type)

There was a recall on 3.5l fuel rails. I'm not shure if 97 was involved or not. Go to your dealer and see if your car was involved in the recall.

kurts2, about how much do you think this will cost?

DESIREESAVENGER, my apologizes. I forgot to list my year and model. The user name is a reference to my previous Intrepid I had when I first joined this site. I didn't change my user name so then people would still know who I am. I have a 2002 Intrepid ES with a 3.5L standard output as my current car. Would this apply to the recall?

If you do yourself, seals are nothing but o-rings...very cheap.

No the fuel rail on a 2nd gen 3.5 is totally different and not involved in the recall.
